You will receive support from dedicated teachers and start speaking and writing Yiddish from the very beginning. You will also practice understanding spoken Yiddish by listening to audio materials, and you will work with translations between Yiddish and English.
The course is often offered remotely. When this is the case, you will have support through the online learning platform Canvas. The course includes in this case regular lessons via Zoom. These lessons are not recorded. You will need access to a computer with an internet connection, a webcam, and a headset throughout the entire course period.
After completing the course, you will be eligible to continue with Yiddish: Beginner's Course II.
