Why did you choose Lund University?
As a Sustainability Scientist I’m excited to be joining the Centre for Sustainability Studies at Lund with its international reputation for sustainability research and education and the university’s number 1 QS Sustainability ranking.
Lund provides an opportunity to work with great sustainability researchers and educators, while experiencing the excellent Swedish higher education system and fika!
Can you briefly describe your current research?
My current research focuses on i) education for sustainable development and the role of universities in catalysing sustainability across education, research, campus and operations; and ii) the socio-technical interface of the energy transition, particularly around community-centric design approaches to place-based decarbonisation and the green skills needed for a sustainable transition.
What will be your main research focus during your time at Lund University?
While at Lund my research will focus on innovative pedagogies to develop sustainability competencies, including pedagogies of listening and activism, and the use of the university as a living lab and demonstrator; alongside exploring practitioner-researcher positionality and innovative community engagement methods within transdisciplinary community-centric, place-based decarbonisation projects.
Lund Global Visiting Professors' Programme is part of the Lund University Programme for Global Excellence, which is the University’s largest international recruitment initiative to date.
