World-leading research facilities
Two of the world’s foremost research facilities for materials research and life sciences are established in Lund – the synchrotron radiation facility MAX IV, which was inaugurated in June 2016, and the European Spallation Source (ESS) which will feature the world’s most powerful neutron source when it opens for research in 2023. These will be of decisive importance for materials and life sciences and for industrial development.
In Lund, Medicon Village has also been established and offers a unique environment for life sciences; integrating research, innovation and enterprise creates the conditions for improved health and quality of life.
