Protecting and transferring biotech inventions

Editor

Summary, in English

The 2002/2003 joint masters students’ efforts deal with the general protection of inventions covering such issues as the concepts of industrial application, novelty and inventive step. The students are also i.a. taking a closer look at university inventions and biotechnology aspects such as the cloning of humans, patentability of stem cells, germ line intervention and animal suffering. The discussion on protection also made them investigate how biotech inventions can be transferred through licensing arrangements and the different types of provisions contained in a licensing agreement.
