Circular trade is about creating business models that reduce waste and extend product lifecycles. Services like second-hand, repair and rental are central to more sustainable consumption. Yet, for companies, making these solutions profitable and scalable is a challenge. This is where logistics plays a crucial role.
In this course, you will learn how logistics networks and material flows can be adapted to meet the demands of a circular economy. You will gain insight into how transport, warehousing and returns management affect both costs and environmental impact. By analysing real case studies, you will develop practical skills to evaluate and improve circular solutions.
The course provides an understanding of how businesses can combine sustainability with profitability and how logistics can become a strategic factor for long-term success. It can be taken as a stand-alone course and is ideal for anyone interested in sustainable consumption, circular economy and the future challenges of logistics.
Your studies combine theory with practical work. You will engage with real case studies from companies implementing circular business models. These examples give you a clear picture of the challenges and opportunities in practice.
Teaching includes lectures, seminars and group projects where you discuss solutions and strategies with fellow students. You will learn tools for analysing logistics flows and assessing how they can be adapted for circular services such as second-hand, repair and rental.
Assessment consists of written assignments and oral presentations where you demonstrate your ability to critically review and propose improvements. The course equips you with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills sought after by companies investing in sustainability and circular economy.
