Welcome to a variety of events and activities brought to you by the Alumni Relations Office! Throughout the year we host a variety of events exclusively for members of the Alumni Network as well as events for current students, providing them the chance to meet, network and be inspired by alumni.

Below you can see our upcoming events. More events may be added on this webpage continuously. You can click on the events to read more information and to register. All our events require participants to register in advance, unless stated otherwise. Registration generally opens a few weeks prior to the event.

7 October | 12:00 | Book Club: Author Talk with Amanda Svensson | Zoom

Amanda Svensson had her major breakthrough with the debut novel Hey Dolly (2008) and has since published several acclaimed books. The Book Club’s pick is Själens Telegraf. The webinar will be held on Zoom and can be watched afterwards, but registration is required to access the recording. An invitation with a registration link will be sent by email and through Lundensaren, the alumni newsletter.

 

In-person events abroad and in Lund

 

13 October | 19:00 | Debate in Lund: Is globalisation dead – and should we mourn it if so? | Lund, Sweden

An engaging discussion (in Swedish) about the future of globalisation and its consequences for society. The debate will take place at Grand Hotel in Lund. 

Debate in Lund or 'Debatt i Lund' is open to the public, but the Alumni Network has reserved 20 seats for members – first come, first served. Registration is required. All registered participants will also receive the recording afterwards. An invitation with a registration link will be sent via Lundensaren, the alumni newsletter.

15 October | Taipei, Taiwan 

Sweden Alumni Event in Taiwan. This event welcomes alumni from all Swedish universities. More information coming soon.

21 October | 18:30 | Alumni Event | Amsterdam, the Netherlands

Alumni mingle hosted by Lund University in collaboration with the School of Economics and Management.

28 October | 16:00 | Biotech Unlocked: Future Food Systems and Value Chains | New York, USA

An exciting event organised by Lund University Foundation and the Swedish Consulate, featuring speakers from Lund University, Tetra Pak and Oatly. The event explores technology, market, and industry within global food systems and how challenges in food supply, nutrition, sustainability and safety can be turned into opportunities.

8 November | 14:30 | Alumni event and Odeum’s “Just Brahms” concert | Lund, Sweden

Alumni event in collaboration with Odeum and the Lund University Academic Orchestra. The evening begins with an alumni mingle with representatives from Lund University and Odeum, followed by a concert featuring works by Johannes Brahms, including his first piano concerto in D minor. Markus Kvint is soloist and Patrik Andersson conducts. 

60 free seats are available for alumni via special invitation. Registration required. Spots will be allocated on a rolling basis until capacity is reached.

The concert is also open to the public with ticket purchase. An invitation with a registration link will be sent by email.

18 November | 18:30 | Alumni Event | Seoul, South Korea

Alumni event at the Residence of the Swedish Ambassador together with eight leading universities in Sweden and South Korea. More information about the time and program will be updated on this page shortly.

3 December | 17:00 | Alumni Event | Brussels, Belgium

Alumni Networking Reception at the Nordic House in collaboration with the network of Universities in South Sweden ('Lärosäten Syd'). More information will be updated on this page shortly.
