This course aims to help you respond to the challenges of the information revolution. How can companies use information technology to stay ahead? What strategies work best to make the most of new technology? How do competitors' actions affect your own decisions? With so many ways to invest in IT, which ones should businesses focus on first?

To answer these questions, you need to see that information technology is more than just computers. Today, IT encompasses the information that businesses create and use, as well as a wide spectrum of increasingly convergent and linked technologies that process information. This includes not only computers but also data recognition equipment, communications technologies, factory automation, and other hardware and services.
