Why did you choose Lund University?

I decided to join Lund University because of the productive and enthusiastic research ecosystem here.

I believe that an atmosphere of productive and enthusiastic research is important for developing one's own research agenda, so witnessing the vibrant community here was a major selling point.

Lund University's focus on interdisciplinarity is also a major draw for my work.

Can you briefly describe your current research?

I am a philosopher of physics, specializing in the foundations, epistemology, and methodology of frontier physics.

A philosopher of physics studies deep questions behind how physics works—not just what physics tells us, but how and why we come to trust it.

My main area of focus has been the processes of theory construction, confirmation, and hypothesis formation in particle physics and cosmology.

What will be your main research focus during your time at Lund University?

I am working on a project assessing the current landscape of particle physics.

This work combines foundational analysis and interpretation of the effective field theory framework with an epistemological analysis of the ways we generate evidence in particle physics.

I am excited to get to work closely with the philosophers of science and physicists here at Lund University to complete this project!
