Why did you choose Lund University?
Lund offers positions that permit assistant professors to do a substantial amount of research.
The university’s very active Department of Philosophy combines Practical and Theoretical Philosophy with Cognitive Science, which is a rare and particularly promising setup. Moreover, Lund University is located in a most lovely little city, which has always been one of my favourites.
Can you briefly describe your current research?
I am working on different topics at the intersection of neurophilosophy, artificial intelligence, medical ethics, and philosophy of mind. My latest projects investigated decision-making under the influence of brain stimulation and the potential harms of AI psychotherapy.
What will be your main research focus during your time at Lund University?
At Lund University, I am planning to combine empirical data from current studies on certain brain interventions with concepts from the philosophy of mind to arrive at ethical assessments of novel medical technologies.
Lund Global Research Fellows are part of the Lund University Programme for Global Excellence, which is the University’s largest international recruitment initiative to date.
