Managing People, Knowledge and Change prepares students to become managers and leaders who understand the complex challenges organisations face today. In this programme, you will learn to identify and solve real-world organisational challenges while strengthening your decision-making skills across areas such as organisational development, strategic human resource management, leadership, knowledge management, creativity and innovation, sustainability, and the role of culture, identity and values in organisations.
The programme adopts a student-centred approach to teaching and learning, placing strong emphasis on independent thinking and critical reflection on dominant perspectives in management and organisations. Students are expected to be curious, communicative and collaborative, practising complex problem-solving together, through case work and in dialogue with their peers and teachers. You will learn to become reflective and responsible practitioners, equipped with the competence to ask the right questions.
The programme collaborates with organisations across diverse industries, which regularly contribute through guest lectures and seminars. Alumni of the programme remain actively involved, contributing as visiting lecturers, organising workshops, and engaging with students to share valuable industry insights and career perspectives.
In this programme, you will learn how to analyse and apply theoretical concepts, models and tools in order to identify and solve real problems. The research methods course discusses reflective qualitative research methods. You will learn how the researchers at the department conduct their research and write the degree project on a topic of your interest.
Teaching and learning activities are student-centred and highly participative. They include interactive lectures, student-led seminars, and blended learning environments. A key feature of the programme is the emphasis on group work, through which students develop essential soft skills such as collaboration, teamwork, and conflict resolution. Active participation is expected, encouraging students to draw on their curiosity and engagement to contribute to a dynamic and productive learning environment.
The teachers on the programme are active researchers who are passionate about the subjects they teach, providing a unique proximity to the research field and contemporary topics. The courses are regularly developed to address current organisational challenges and needs.
After the programme, students pursue diverse and successful careers across industries and countries, equipped for roles in an international context. Graduates work in consulting, human resources, finance, communications, and organisational development, often in roles involving strategic leadership, change management and talent development. Common job titles include consultant, senior consultant, business analyst, HR generalist, project manager and private adviser – positions that focus on improving processes, leading transformation, and supporting people-focused strategies. Our graduates are employed by companies such as Deloitte, Accenture, PwC, Capgemini, KPMG, Handelsbanken, IKEA, Tetra Pak, Rituals and Mars. Some work for organisations like UNICEF and Greenpeace, and some have started their own businesses. Wherever you career takes you after graduation, you are equipped to create meaningful change and deliver real impact.
