Arrival day

All international students are recommended to arrive in Lund on the official Arrival Day.

  • Spring 2021 Arrival Day: Monday 11 January, 09:00–19:00, place TBA

Please note that if you arrive later than the Arrival Day opening hours and have a confirmed room from LU Accommodation or AF Bostäder, you need to collect your keys the next day and organise other accommodation for your first night.

Arriving in Lund

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, we will unfortunately not have international mentors available to meet you at Copenhagen Airport like we normally do. We are looking into alternative ways to help students with this step. Please check back for more information.

There will however be international mentors at the railway station in Lund. You will recognise them by their yellow reflective vests with the Lund University logo. Mentors will be at Lund train station from 09:00 until 18:30.

From the Lund train station, you can take the free minivan shuttle service to the Arrival Day venue (this is a short drive of approximately 15 minutes). Arrival Day services are open from 09:00 to 19:00.

Check-in at Lund University

When you arrive at Arrival Day, please leave your luggage in the luggage room and go to the check-in desk.

Be sure to bring your admission letter (notification of results) or your Letter of Acceptance (exchange students) and your passport. At the Arrival Day check-in you will receive a welcome package with useful information about Lund University and student life, as well as the schedule for the orientation/introduction programme.

If you arrive after Arrival Day, you are welcome to visit the International Desk (located on the ground floor of the building at Stora Algatan 4) during their opening hours to check in and receive your welcome package.

Please note that, in order to enrol in your programme and courses at Lund University, you need to attend the introduction meeting of your programme or course, which usually takes place in the beginning of the semester.

Information centre

If you have any questions or need additional help during Arrival Day, you are welcome to visit the Information Centre located by the check-in desk. At the Information Centre you can get help with maps, questions about your student account/student email, printing etc. You are also always welcome to ask for help from Lund University mentors and staff available during Arrival Day.

As we welcome hundreds of international students on Arrival Day, there may sometimes be long waiting times and queues. We ask for your understanding and patience. While you are waiting, you are welcome to ask questions to the international mentors who are present all day and happy to help you.

We look forward to seeing you on Arrival Day! If you have any questions regarding the arrangements on Arrival Day, please contact the International Desk.

What happens after Arrival Day?

On the evening of Arrival Day, there is an Arrival Day 'meet-up' event for students who are keen to join in a social event and meet other students on their first night. For students who have had a very long trip and a day with lots of new impressions, we suggest that you go home and rest ahead of the start of the Orientation Weeks and the range of exciting activities ahead of you.
