Frequently asked questions
You complete 180 ECTS over three years (six semesters). Each semester is 30 ECTS and is divided into two 10-week teaching periods followed by an exam week. You typically take two 7.5 ECTS courses, or three 5 ECTS courses. This means you usually follow 2–3 courses in parallel, so good time management is important.
All courses in the programme structure are mandatory. However, in the fifth semester is flexible: you can study abroad, choose courses at Lund University, or do an internship at a company.
All courses include discussions, group work, and interactive activities, so you need a level of English that allows you to participate actively in academic discussions. If you are unsure, preparatory English courses can help.
Yes, group work is a core part of the Lund Learning Culture and most courses include both group tasks and individual assignments. Working in groups helps you develop teamwork and leadership skills, learn from different perspectives, and gain intercultural experience.
The annual intake is about 70 students. Some courses are offered only within the programme, others include exchange students. Teaching formats include lectures, seminars, group work and workshops. When it comes to exams, most courses include a mix of group assignments and individual assessments.
Typically, about 40% of students are international and 60% are from Sweden.
Yes. The final semester includes a bachelor’s thesis written in a group of three. You receive supervision, methods training, and guidance throughout the project.
You have access to a programme coordinator and study advisor, career support, academic skills services, student health services, and study guidance.
Yes. In the fifth semester, you can study abroad at one of our partner universities. We have over 130 partner universities in more than 30 countries, and you can apply for these opportunities.
Yes. If you want to stay in Sweden, you can take courses here at Lund University, even from other faculties, or do an internship in a company.
In Lund, we have the student union as well as 13 Student Nations, which are student-run organisations. They offer housing, host a wide range of events and social activities, and are a great way to connect with other students when you arrive in Lund.
