Rankings overview

University rankings are based on a combination of factors, including academic reputation, teaching quality, research impact, global outlook and employer perception of graduates.

The table below shows Lund University's most recent ranking results.

Lund University is the highest ranked comprehensive university in Sweden in the QS, U.S. News and THE rankings. It is also the world's 61st most international university, according to THE 2026.

First in the world for sustainability

Lund University is ranked number one in the QS World University Rankings: Sustainability 2026. 

The QS ranking for sustainability includes around 2,000 higher education institutions from about 100 countries and measures how universities contribute to a sustainable future – through research, education and the way they operate as organisations.
