Arts, music and theatre at Lund University

Lund University has its own Faculty of Fine and Performing Arts and several other cultural institutions linked to the University. Together, they offer a wide range of experiences, including concerts, theatre performances and art exhibitions.

Skissernas Museum

Skissernas Museum – the Museum of Artistic Process and Public Art – is a unique art museum focusing on the artistic creative process. It houses the world’s largest collection of sketches, models and preparatory works for public art – both Swedish and international.

In addition to its permanent exhibitions, the museum presents several temporary exhibitions each year. It also offers a varied programme of guided tours, talks, lectures, concerts and creative activities for all ages.

Odeum – the University's music centre

Odeum has its roots in traditions dating back to 1745, when the Academic Orchestra was founded. Today, it is Lund University's music centre for student performance, concerts, lectures and education. It is also home to the Academic Orchestra, Lund Academic Choir and Palaestra Vocal Ensemble.

Each year, Odeum presents around 40 concerts featuring its own ensembles and guest musicians, as well as public lectures on music.

Malmö Art Academy

Malmö Art Academy presents its work through regular open studios, as well as at its student galleries KHM 1 and KHM 2 in Malmö.

Malmö Academy of Music

Students at the Malmö Academy of Music organise concerts, including in the Rosenberg Hall at the Academy in Malmö. The Academy's teachers and students also take part in a wide range of musical events across the region.

Malmö Theatre Academy

The public stage of Malmö Theatre Academy is called Bryggeriteatern and is located on Bergsgatan in the Mazetti district of Malmö. It hosts, among other things, final productions from the acting programme.

Inter Arts Center

Inter Arts Center (IAC) in Malmö is a centre within the Faculty of Fine and Performing Arts, focusing on artistic research, doctoral education, interdisciplinary art and collaboration. With advanced technology and facilities, IAC promotes collaboration between artists, researchers and external partners – both within the University and in wider society.

IAC regularly organises public events such as performances, seminars, exhibitions and workshops.
