Software
As a student at Lund University, you can access a range of software to support your studies. This page provides guidance on how to log in and download the tools you need.
Microsoft Office 365 University
You can download and use Microsoft Office programmes for free with your student account. These include:
- Word
- Excel
- PowerPoint
- OneNote
- Outlook.
You also have access to Microsoft Teams. Your licence remains valid as long as your student account is active.
How to log in:
Use your student account username followed by @lu.se (e.g. ab1234xy-s [at] lu [dot] se)

Google Workspace
You will receive a Google Workspace account which gives you access to a range of tools:
- Google Drive: Store and share files, and create documents, spreadsheets, presentations, forms and drawings.
- Google Groups: Discuss and collaborate with classmates.
- Google Sites: Create simple websites.
- Student email: Provided through Gmail.

- Go to Google's log in portal
- Enter your username followed by @student.lu.se (e.g. ab1234cd-s [at] student [dot] lu [dot] se)
- You will be redirected to Lund University's login portal
- Log in with your student account username and password
Mathematics software
Many students use mathematics software in their studies. Most are available for Windows, macOS and Linux.

The University's software portal
You can download additional study-related software from Lund University's software portal.
You must be connected to the university network or VPN to gain access.
The software portal is only available in Swedish. Follow these instructions to download your software:
Log in using your student account details. Click on 'Ladda ner' and then 'Student'. Select your operating system. Note that some software is not available for Linux.

Available software include:
- EndNote: Manage references and bibliographies.
- LabVIEW: Build systems for testing, measurement and automation.
- Maple: Mathematical problem solving.
- NVivo: Analyse qualitative data.
- Reference Manager: Organise and cite sources.
- SPSS: Perform statistical analysis. To use SPSS requires that you are connected to the University network).
- Stata: Manage and analyse datasets.
