Activate your student account
When you are admitted to Lund University, a student account is created for you automatically. To start using it, you need to activate the account. This page explains how to do that – step by step.
You can activate your account once your admission has been registered in Ladok, the university’s study administration system.
You will receive an email with your account details and instructions once your account is ready to be activated.

How to activate your student account – step by step
1. Go to the password portal
Start by visiting the Passport password portal:
2. Select ‘Password’ and log in with a method that suits you
If you do not have a permanent Swedish personal identity number
If you do not have a permanent Swedish personal identity number you will need to use a One Time Passcode (OTP). This passcode is found in the email you received with your student account details. Also use this option if you cannot use BankID, Freja eID+ or similar services.
Login with your personal identity number (temporary or permanent, if it contains a letter, it is temporary, e.g. 19900401T456. Only T-, R-, S-, U- and W-numbers are valid).
If you cannot find the email with your account details:

- Verified account at Universityadmissions.se
- One Time Passcode (if you cannot use the options above).
3. Save your username (UserID)
Once logged in, you will see your UserID (for example: ab1234cd-s). Please verify that your UserID corresponds with the one stated in the email you received with your student account details. Save this, you will need it to access various university services.
For some services, like the Wi-Fi on campus, use the format: ab1234cd-s [at] lu [dot] se
4. Choose a password
Set a secure password for your account. Your password is personal – store it safely using, for example, a password manager. After choosing your password your account will be active.
Add alternative contact details
You should register an alternative email address and a phone number, all international numbers are valid. These can be used if you forget your password and need to reset it. You can update your contact details in the Passport password portal:
Choose ‘I am a user’ and then ‘Verification of contact details’.
Activating your account is not the same as registering for your course
You also need to register separately for your course.
