Student account
As a student at Lund University, you will receive a personal student account with a username and password. This account gives you access to essential digital services, including the student email, the learning platform Canvas, Wi-Fi on campus, the University Library’s online services and licensed software.
How to activate your student account
You must activate your student account yourself. You will receive an email when your account is ready to be activated.

Forgotten your password?
If you have forgotten your password, you can reset it using the Passport password portal. You can also manage your account settings there.
Locked account
If you enter the wrong password three times, your student account will be locked for 30 minutes. After this, you can reset your password using the Passport password portal.
To avoid being locked out, we recommend resetting your password promptly if you forget it.
What your student account includes
Canvas is the learning platform used at Lund University. Here you can access course materials, submit assignments, and communicate with teachers and fellow students.
Ladok is the national system for study administration in Sweden. It allows you to view your course registrations and results, sign up for exams, and apply for your degree.
Some programmes and courses at Lund University use Blackboard as an alternative or complement to Canvas for teaching and course materials.
As a student at Lund University, you receive a personal email address – your student email – linked to your student account.

Your student account gives you access to a range of free software, including Microsoft 365 and MATLAB, to support your learning.
As a student, you have access to wireless internet through Eduroam – a global Wi-Fi network available on all Lund University campuses and at other connected institutions worldwide.
With your student account, you can also use the university’s VPN service to securely access internal resources and databases when you are off campus.
You can print, copy and scan documents using Lund University's printing system, which is linked to your student account.
With your student account, you have access to the University Library’s digital resources – including e-books, databases and scholarly articles – as well as the option to reserve and borrow printed books.
Want to change your name in the university systems?
If you do not have a permanent Swedish personal identity number, you can request a name change by contacting the Ladok administration at Lund University. You will need to attach a valid ID to your request.
If you have a permanent Swedish personal identity number, you can update your name through the Swedish Tax Agency. The change will then be reflected automatically across the university systems.

Closing your student account
When you complete your studies, your student account will be closed automatically. One month before this happens, you will receive a notification sent to your Lund University student email and the email address you registered in Ladok.
The message will confirm the date your account will be deleted.
