Changing your name in the university systems

If you want a new or changed name in Lund University's systems, the process depends on whether you have a Swedish personal identity number or not.

Lund University's systems display the name registered in the national study administration system Ladok.

When you update your name in Ladok, the change will automatically appear in Lund University's systems. Once your name is updated in Ladok, the change will be visible in Ladok nationwide and at universityadmissions.se. 

If you do not have a permanent Swedish personal identity number

Send an email with your request to ladok [at] stu [dot] lu [dot] se (ladok[at]stu[dot]lu[dot]se) and attach a copy of a valid passport, national ID-card or equivalent documentation.

Once your request has been approved, your name will be updated in all the study administration systems. You will be notified when your name has been updated. 

If you have a permanent Swedish personal identity number

If you have a permanent Swedish personal identity number, Ladok receives the information from the Swedish Tax Agency.

To update your name, you need to apply for the change via the Swedish Tax Agency. Once the change is processed, it will be automatically reflected in Ladok and in the University's systems. Please allow a few days for this to take full effect.
