Båstad Masterclass - Composition (2026)

Description

Denna sommarkurs är för dig som vill utveckla din kompositionsförmåga. Genom seminarier och individuell handledning får du fördjupa dina kunskaper i kompositionsteknik och skapa egna verk i en inspirerande miljö.

Kursen genomförs sön 21 - tors 25 juni med inresa lör 20 juni.  Mer info om antagningen finns nedan.

Kursen vänder sig till tonsättare och musikstudenter som vill utveckla sina kompositionsfärdigheter och få konstruktiv kritik på sina verk. Ämnen som komposition, form, instrumentation, analys och notation kommer att tas upp.

Undervisningen kan ges både individuellt och i seminarieform beroende på omständigheterna och det finns också avsatt tid under veckan för eget kompositionsarbete och andra uppgifter. Det erbjuds också möjlighet att besöka de kammarmusikkonserter som hålls under festivalen.

Information skickas ut i god tid till de sökande som blivit antagna.

Antagning till kursen:

Antagningen grundar sig på bedömning av arbetsprover inlämnade av den sökande.

3-4 partitur (pdf) efter eget val, företrädesvis olika ensembletyper (kammarmusik, kör, orkester

ljudexempel (mp3). Både live- och midi-inspelningar är välkomna men inga Finale- eller Sibelius-filer

ett kort CV med information om tidigare studier/lärare och några ord om vad du förväntar dig av mästarklassen i komposition

Arbetsproverna ska vara uppladdade senast den 1 april, men notera att sista anmälningsdag på antagning.se är 15 mars (du måste alltså BÅDE anmäla dig på antagning.se och skicka in arbetsprov). Då har ni som sökande ytterligare några dagar att få fram arbetsprover efter att ni ansökt.

Lärare

ROLF MARTINSSON är professor i komposition vid Musikhögskolan i Malmö. Han är en eftersökt pedagog och en av Sveriges internationellt ledande tonsättare. Han har samarbetat med ledande världsartister och orkestrar som Lisa Larsson, Anne Sofie von Otter, Håkan Hardenberger, Martin Fröst, Andris Nelsons, Alan Gilbert, Manfred Honeck, Cleveland Orchestra, Boston Symphony Orchestra, BBC Symphony Orchestra i prestigefyllda konserthus som Carnegie Hall, Concertgebouw, Musikverein, Gewandhaus, Royal Festival Hall, Elbphilharmonie och Berlin Philharmonie.

Requirements and selection

Entry requirements

General and specific entry requirements: studying or has studied an educational programme at a music academy or equivalent, at least 7.5 credits in composition – classical specialisation, along with submitted and approved portfolios.

Selection criteria

Urvalet baseras på antagningsprov som består av insända arbetsprover i form av partitur och inspelningar som bedöms av en jury utifrån kriterierna musikteoretisk och teknisk kunskap, hantverksskicklighet och konstnärlig mognad i sitt musikaliska uttryck.

English language requirements

Most of Lund University’s programmes require English Level 6 (unless otherwise stated under 'Entry requirements'). This is the equivalent of an overall IELTS score of 6.5 or a TOEFL score of 90. There are several ways to prove your English language proficiency – check which proof is accepted at the University Admissions in Sweden website. All students must prove they meet English language requirements by the document deadline, in order to be considered for admission.

  • Prepare programme-specific documents if stated in the next paragraph on this webpage.
  • Upload or send all required documents to University Admissions before the document deadline.
  • Pay the application fee (if applicable – refer to the section below on this webpage) before the document deadline.

* Note that the process is different if you are applying as an exchange student or as a part of a cooperation programme (such as Erasmus+).
