Why did you choose Lund University?
"I chose Lund University because of its excellent academic reputation in the Finance programme and its connection to the industry market. The university's dynamic international community and strong emphasis on research-led education were two main things that drew me here. Lund was also a great option for my academic path because of its lovely campus in the heart of the city and the friendly vibe of the neighbourhood. Furthermore, Sweden's progressive and inclusive culture, as well as its great quality of life, cultural diversity and gorgeous landscapes, make it an appealing location for higher study."
What are your first impressions of your programme? Does it meet your expectations?
"So far, the programme has exceeded my expectations by providing a challenging yet supportive foundation for academic progress. The curriculum is well-structured, with a proper mix of academic understanding and practical applications. The academic staff are extremely qualified and approachable, which contributes to an enjoyable learning environment. The small class size fosters a close-knit and collaborative learning environment, allowing for interactive communication with professors and fellow students."
What have been the highlights of your first months in Lund?
"The highlights of my first months in Lund have been unforgettable. 'Novisch' week was an engaging experience full of various activities that provided the ideal opportunity to engage with fellow students from all around the world. Exploring surrounding destinations such as Malmö and Copenhagen offered an exciting dimension of big city life. Furthermore, relaxing at Lomma Beach in the summer and visiting national parks in autumn helped me appreciate the natural beauty that surrounds Lund, enhancing the overall quality of my time here."
What do you think of the teaching style in Sweden?
"The teaching style in Sweden emphasises open communication with a laid-back approach, which encourages students to actively participate in discussions and express their opinions freely. It has empowered me to take ownership of my education, allowing me to delve deeper into subjects of personal interest and develop critical thinking skills. I've also learned that maintaining a healthy balance between my studies and personal well-being is a foundation not only for academic success but for a fulfilling and sustainable student experience as well."
How international is your programme?
"In my opinion, it is rather international. It reflects a global perspective, with 40% of the cohort representing the Swedish community, and a significant 60% representing international students from all over the world. This cohort with diverse backgrounds, fosters a rich cultural exchange and ensures that discussions in class are enriched by a multitude of viewpoints."
