This programme allows you to develop advanced-level academic expertise in international marketing and brand management. We provide you with the theory, concepts and skills to build and manage strong brands and successfully market products and services across a range of dynamic and competitive international environments. You will train your ability to analyse societal shifts, market trends, technological development, and their interplay with consumption and brands. These skills are essential for companies to be able to develop new innovations and better serve their markets and stakeholders.

The programme features a wide range of electives and value-adding features, including high-quality industry collaboration, skills-based teaching, research excellence, and real-life learning based on industry projects. The programme teachers are active researchers and experts in a variety of fields.

Our students are truly international with representations from all parts of the world, which further enhances the learning experience. The programme is one of Sweden’s most popular Master’s programmes.

The programme is organised into two different tracks. When applying for the programme, you also select which track you are specialising in. The tracks share courses to some extent.

Track 1: Strategies for Brands and International Markets

This track introduces, explains and applies key theories in business administration, with a particular focus on international contexts, marketing and branding.

Strategies for Brands and International Markets

Track 2: International Consumer Trends, Brands and Innovation

This track gives students both a broad and in-depth understanding of key areas such as the evolution of global consumer culture, branding and innovation.

International Consumer Trends, Brands and Innovation

The programme is designed to increase your ability to solve complex problems and strengthen your decision-making skills. Teaching methods include case studies, seminars, presentations, teamwork, problem-solving exercises, and hands-on real-life business projects. The teaching methods are designed to facilitate integration of the theoretical and practical aspects of the programme and to encourage interaction among students. Critical analysis of the course content is combined with the use of real case studies wherever possible. Swedish and international guest lecturers and speakers from business, government, NGOs and research regularly feature as part of the curriculum to further connect studies to the professional world.

All modules require a high level of student participation in class.

There are mandatory courses for each specialisation. In addition, you will be provided with the opportunity to tailor your degree via elective courses in, for example, AI-driven digital marketing, sustainability and marketing ethics, AI-assisted market intelligence, corporate brand management and reputation, and understanding consumption. The programme also includes comprehensive training in research strategy and methods, both qualitative and quantitative.

Graduates from this programme work in international firms within marketing and brand strategy, brand and product management, sales and marketing research, as well as in academia. You will be able to help organisations gain insight by providing them with trend analysis, consumer and marketing research, business intelligence, innovation, and brand strategy. This includes use of artificial intelligence-based tools.

The school's close ties to the international business community and extensive network of corporate partners ensure practical relevance and give your career a head start. Graduates have found employment at leading businesses all over the world, for example, L'Oréal, Deloitte, Tetra Pak, PwC, PepsiCo, and Mastercard. Common roles after graduation are Marketing Manager, Marketing Coordinator, Digital Marketing Specialist, Junior Brand Manager, Consultant, and Product Manager.
