Why did you choose Lund University?
I chose Lund University for its excellent research environment and its outstanding reputation in both sustainability and human rights research and education.
I’m especially excited to join and contribute to the Faculty of Law’s strong sustainability and human rights research groups.
Lund also offers great opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration through its Human Rights profile area, which I am looking forward to engaging with.
Can you briefly describe your current research?
My research focuses on the intersection of human rights and climate change.
I study how human rights law can support stronger mitigation ambition and implementation of climate commitments.
I also examine rights-based climate litigation at national and international levels, including its potential to respond to climate loss and damage.
What will be your main research focus during your time at Lund University?
At Lund, I will continue my research on human rights and climate change, with an increased focus on the rights-based implications of the green transition (just transition).
In particular, I will analyse emerging just transition litigation, such as disputes linked to green energy projects, and how to ensure a rapid green transition that also safeguards human rights.
Lund Global Research Fellows are part of the Lund University Programme for Global Excellence, which is the University’s largest international recruitment initiative to date.
