This course introduces you to the rapidly growing field of AI and how it is used in business. Designed for students from different backgrounds without prior knowledge of AI, the course provides a conceptual understanding of AI technologies, their potential for solving problems within organisations and creating value.

You will learn about data aspects relating to AI, such as determining the types of data needed for specific use cases and the importance of data quality in AI-driven decisions. You will also explore challenges and resistance toward AI, including resistance from users and employees, along with the legal and ethical concerns.

Throughout the course, you will explore real case studies and learn to identify both opportunities challenges related to AI implementation in business. Teaching includes lectures, seminars and supervision.

You will demonstrate your knowledge through a written exam and a group case.

By the end of the course, you will be able to critically assess AI-based solutions and understand what data is needed for successful AI implementation. You will also know how to handle potential challenges and follow ethical and legal guidelines when working with AI.

Prerequisites

General requirements and studies equivalent to Swedish Upper Secondary School courses English 6/English level 2

Selection criteria

Seats are allocated according to the following: The general average (GPA) of your higher secondary school leaving certificate: 34 %, The Swedish national university aptitude test: 34 %, number of previous ECTS at application deadline (up to 165): 32 %. If students have equal credentials, seats are allocated based on their results on The Swedish National University Aptitude Test. If this too is equal, seats are allocated based on a draw.

are required to pay tuition fees. You pay an instalment of the tuition fee in advance of each
semester.
