The term of office for the Vice-Chancellor of Lund University expires at the end of 2026. Between 17 December and 1 February, it was possible to nominate someone for the position or apply for it yourself.
Now that the deadline for nominations and applications has passed, 6 people have applied for the position and 8 have been nominated by someone else. 5 are women and 9 are men.
The next step is for the Recruitment Committee to select candidates and decide who will be invited to an initial interview, which will take place in March.
A new Vice-Chancellor is appointed for six years. The appointment can then be renewed for three years. In a few cases, the Government has extended the appointment for a further three years.
