Outline

The structure of the programme is flexible in order to increase your opportunities to tailor your studies to your own interests.

You may include up to 30 credits of completely free choice courses in your degree. This means that you can do an extended degree project of 45 or 60 credits. Alternatively, you can choose to take courses or to carry out smaller projects or internships in bioinformatics.

Frequently asked questions

Our master’s programmes are very popular, and it is highly competitive to secure a place. We admit only about 15 students per programme each year. The selection criteria are based primarily on your grades from previous academic courses, as well as your motivation letter. Try to write a motivation letter that stands out, but keep it concise!

Absolutely. Most students choose to to a short research project already the second semester. You will do your thesis project (30-60 credits) in a research group or company. We highly recommend doing an internship as well which may provide valuable professional contacts.

The programme has a high amount of scheduled activities, especially programming exercises.

During the first semester of your master’s programme, we will admit you for the courses. For the following semesters, you will need to apply for courses via universityadmissions.se. You will receive detailed information about this well in advance.

Normally, we don’t admit students from the waiting list after the admission results have been published.
