Summary, in English

The object of this paper is to describe the stylistic resources in literary texts and find out how textual density in narrative texts is created. Therefore, to a great extent the lyrical features are sought in the narrative. What is explicitly expressed within the text is investigated but what is not in the text, the empty spaces, is also commented on. It is reflected upon the concretizations or the completions that the reader makes with his imagination and his experiences to complete the creation of the text. Furthermore, the effects on the reader and his reactions to the text are addressed. Finally, the question is asked if it is possible to define the concept density in the narrative in a better way because it does not seem well described in literary theories. Theoretical support has been sought especially in the theories The new critique and The critique of the reader's response and the method of close reading is applied. “La autopista del Sur” (“The Southern Thruway”) by Julio Cortázar is used as a model text and the term of classical density is proposed for this text; furthermore, a chapter of the novel Paradiso by José Lezama Lima is added to demonstrate a density of another kind, a baroque density. It is shown that all factors within the text and the participation of the reader in combination contribute to a dense experience of the text. It is also observed that the degree of importance of the topic is crucial for the experience of density.
