The Academic Support Centre (ASC) aims to foster and promote good communication and study practices among students across Lund University.

Services at the Academic Support Centre

We are a free service open to all students studying courses and programmes conducted in English at Lund University. We provide individual and group consultations (including feedback on texts), workshops and seminars on topics in two areas:

1. Academic texts and the writing process

  • Researching
  • Brainstorming
  • Pre-writing
  • Drafting and argument-building
  • Avoiding plagiarism
  • Clarifying and cohering
  • Revising
  • Editing

2. Reading and study skills

  • Time management and prioritising

During the spring semester of 2022, the Academic Support Centre will hold several open, digital lectures about different topics, both in English and Swedish.

Effective Reading Strategies

This lecture about effective reading strategies will help you to better understand and remember what you read. The lecture also includes advice for tackling long reading lists and for taking better notes.

The lecture will cover areas such as routines and scheduling, reading and note-taking strategies and how repetition can help you be successful in your studies.
