Gender Studies: Gender in a Global World

Description

Are you interested in developing your theorethical skills within Gender Studies? This course  provides you with an understanding of current feminist theories  within the Social Sciences.

The objective of this course is to introduce you to Gender Studies on the advanced level. The course will deepen your knowledge of intersectional perspectives in relation to Gender, Migration, Globalization, Power and Change. The course focuses on current events that you will analyze with an intersectional perspective. You will also practice your ability to prepare and lead seminars.

Requirements and selection

Entry requirements

The student must be admitted to the Master Programme Gender, Migration and Social Justice or have 150 credits including a thesis for the degree of Bachelor or a completed major in the Social Sciences or the Humanities, or the student must be admitted to one of the following Master Programmes: Master Programme in Public Health, Master programme in Middle Eastern Studies, Master programme in Asian Studies, or a Master Programme within the Social Sciences. Seats are allocated according to: ECTS (HPAV): 100 %.

English language requirements

Most of Lund University’s programmes require English Level 6 (unless otherwise stated under 'Entry requirements'). This is the equivalent of an overall IELTS score of 6.5 or a TOEFL score of 90.     - official transcripts and high school diploma (Bachelor's applicants)
    - official transcripts and degree certificate or proof that you are in the final year of your Bachelor's (Master's applicants)

  • Prepare programme-specific documents if stated in the next paragraph on this webpage.
  • Upload or send all required documents to University Admissions before the document deadline.
  • Pay the application fee (if applicable – refer to the section below on this webpage) before the document deadline.

* Note that the process is different if you are applying as an exchange student or as a part of a cooperation programme (such as Erasmus+).
