Why Stephanie says about the Master's in Management
Stephanie Ambjörnsson Schröderheim from USA and Sweden
“I am Swedish/American with an educational background in hospitality, travel and tourism management from Florida International University in Miami. I have several years of experience in working within the cruise lines, restaurants and night club industry. I decided to attend the Master’s in Management because I wanted to see what I am capable of in a new educational setting.
The programme has students from all over the world; from Canada, USA, Brazil, Portugal, China, Australia, South Africa, and Germany, just to name a few. We are divided into “base teams”, which have been specifically chosen by our professors depending on our background, previous education and learning styles. We mainly learn how to work in and manage diverse and integrated teams, since most of our assignments are to be done within a base team or another larger group. By working in a diverse team, we need to learn how to accept all our different learning styles, to be flexible, to be understanding, and how to manage each other. What I have personally learned is my own learning style, my way of thinking and making decisions, and what I want and expect out of my own life.
After graduation, I will be moving to Copenhagen and starting my new chapter there. I am excited to have been hired for a management role so I can put my skills to work and get the chance to learn even more while being on the job. Overall, I have a few business ideas in mind which I would like to try out when the time is right, but for now I am very excited about the upcoming year post graduation.”
