Why did you choose Lund University?
"I chose Lund University for several compelling reasons. Firstly, Lund University enjoys a well-deserved reputation for its outstanding academic training. The University consistently demonstrates a commitment to excellence, and I was eager to be a part of a learning environment that values rigorous education.
Lund's consistent ranking among the top 100 universities worldwide further validated my decision. This global recognition assured me that I was entering a place of learning that would provide the necessary resources and opportunities for personal and academic growth.
Moreover, the diverse student body and faculty create an enriching multicultural experience, enabling me to broaden my horizons and learn from people with different perspectives and backgrounds. Additionally, Lund University places a strong emphasis on networking and extracurricular activities, offering opportunities to connect with like-minded individuals and professionals in various fields. This proactive approach to networking aligns with my aspirations to build a strong foundation for my future career."
What are your first impressions of your programme? Does it meet your expectations?
"My first impressions of the European Studies programme have been very positive, and it has met my expectations. I chose this programme to gain a deeper understanding of how European societies address contemporary challenges while upholding democracy and individual freedom. The lectures have been enriching, providing valuable insights into these complex issues, and I look forward to continuing my studies in this field."
What have been the highlights of your first months in Lund?
"The highlights have been the opportunity to immerse myself in a different culture and country, which I've thoroughly enjoyed. It's been a fantastic experience to explore and learn about a new academic system. Equally, meeting a diverse group of interesting people from all corners of the world has been a truly enriching aspect of my time here."
What do you think of the teaching style in Sweden?
"The teaching style in Sweden, particularly at Lund University, is truly fascinating. What I appreciate most is the absence of boundaries or walls between students and teachers. There's a genuine emphasis on fostering independent learning and critical thinking among students, encouraging us to take ownership of our education and explore beyond the confines of the classroom. The semester's division, allowing students to focus on one course at a time, is a brilliant approach that enables us to delve deeply into subjects and make the most of our learning experience. This teaching style not only promotes academic growth but also nurtures a spirit of curiosity and self-discovery."
How international is your programme?
"There are more than ten nationalities in my programme."

Do you have any advice for students that are considering coming to Lund?
"If you’re considering Lund, I would say: go for it! Be open to new experiences, embrace the Swedish way of life, and don’t hesitate to engage with the student community. Attend orientation events, join a nation, and take full advantage of the resources the university offers. It’s also a good idea to learn a bit of Swedish – it’s not required, but locals appreciate the effort, and it helps deepen your connection to the culture."
