Your student account

The student account gives you access to a number of electronic services that Lund University offers its students; among other things, you can use it to log in to the Student Portal and your webmail.

What is a student account?

Your student account consists of your user ID, your password and your student email address. When you have activated your student account you can use it as a log in to access a number of electronic services and resources that the University has to offer you as a student.

Among other things, you can use the student account to log in to the Student Portal. Here, you can find your academic results, download software, access your tuition fee invoices (if you are required to pay a tuition fee) and more.

Activating your student account

The way you activate your student account differs depending on if you have applied for degree programmes or courses through the University Admissions in Sweden website (www.universityadmissions.se) or if you are coming to Lund as an exchange student.

Instructions for students who applied for studies via universityadmissions.se

If you are a newly admitted student who applied for your studies via universityadmissions.se, your account will be automatically generated a few days up to two weeks after you have received your Notification of Selection Results PDF via universityadmissions.se (after your second and final Notification of Selection Results if you applied in the later, Swedish/EU application round). When your student account has been generated you will receive an email (to the email address you submitted when you applied for studies), asking you to activate your account.

Please follow these instructions:

  1. Go to https://passport.lu.se 
  2. Click on the 'University Admissions button' and log in with your details from universityadmissions.se:
    Username: The username is your 'Swedish personal number'. You can find it on your Notification of Selection Results, the PDF in your universityadmissions.se account.
    Password: This 
    is the password you use for your universityadmissions.se account
  3. Set up a new password for your account. (And make a note of your password and user name for the future).

If you wish to change your password again later on, please visit https://passport.lu.se and click the 'user button' to log in with your student account details and update your student account password. If you have forgotten your student account password, you can click on the 'University Admissions button', log in with your details from universityadmissions.se and update your student account password.

Instructions for exchange students

Exchange students will receive information regarding their student account by email, one or two weeks before Arrival Day. The email contains your student account user ID and a one-time passcode that you can use to activate your account as well as information about the wireless network at Lund University and how you can configurate your device to connect to it.

Please follow these instructions:

  1. Go to https://passport.lu.se
  2. Click on "One-time passcode" to log in with your student account ID and the one-time passcode from the email.
  3. Set up a new password for your account. (And make a note of your password and user name for the future).

We recommend activating your student account before your arrival in Lund for the following reasons:

  • By activating your account before you get to Lund, your device can be connected from day one
  • The one-time passcode for exhance students is only valid for one month – the sooner you activate it, the better
  • We can always help you set up your student account during Arrival Day and the Orientation Weeks, but it is a busy time for everyone and you may have to wait in a long line to get assistance. We therefore suggest you try and set things up before you get here.

Termination of student accounts

Your student account will be deleted shortly after you complete your studies at Lund University. One month before the account is deleted, you will be notified of the imminent termination via your student email. You must therefore make sure to check the email addressed to your student account. Two weeks later, you will receive a reminder of the termination of your account. As of the date announced in the notification, your account will be deleted.
