What Solmaz says about the Master's in Service Management, Tourism
Solmaz Seyedmousavi from Iran
How did you find out about the programme?
“I found it through universityadmissions.se.”
What is the best thing about your programme?
“I like the international atmosphere of the University the most, along with the course materials that are taught.”
Why did you choose the specialisation in tourism?
“I mainly chose this specialisation because of my related academic background and my personal interest in tourism. I like to try new things to gain as much experience as possible. I am an adventurous person and tourism is the area that best satisfies my needs. I believe it is a bit like the saying ‘life is like a book, if you don’t travel you only read one page’ – travelling opens up the world and broadens people’s horizon.”
What do you think of the teaching style?
“The variety of teaching methods and exams is the most outstanding feature in this regard.”
What are you planning to do after your studies?
“I would like to pursue a PhD, but also it depends on the job opportunities I will get. I can say that I am looking for the best option. One area of interest for me is organising tours or events, since I like working with people.”
What is it like for you to live in Sweden?
“I find Swedish people very helpful. The fact that you hardly ever have problems with communicating in English facilitates living here. The education system is also really interactive.”
Do you have any favourite places in Helsingborg?
“Definitely. I like to spend my time in Råå. The city centre is another cozy place in lovely Helsingborg.”
What do you do in your spare time?
“I’m actually almost always busy studying for my courses at university and learning the Swedish language, and I therefore don’t have that much real spare time. However, going to gym and exploring some nearby destinations such as Lund, Malmö, Ystad and Copenhagen are activities that I experienced during my leisure time.”
Do you have any advice for students considering to study at Lund University?
“Do not hesitate to choose Lund University as your first priority, but be prepared to study hard.”
