What year did you graduate?
"I graduated in 2019."
What is your current job and where is it located?
"I am a PhD student at the Department of Food Technology, Engineering and Nutrition."
How did you find your job and how long did it take?
"I was told there will be PhD positions within my group during the time of my Master’s thesis (spring). The interview was in August and I was offered this position at the end of October. Luckily, I had a part-time job in the department during the summer and beginning of the semester."
Favourite thing about your job?
"I like the research project a lot. It switched from pure food engineering to designing a pharmaceutical drug delivery system which broadened a lot of my knowledge. I like learning new theories and technologies. Also, there are very nice colleagues in the department and we have different sorts of academic and social activities."
How are you changing the industry or the world (in a large or small way)?
"We are developing a new drug delivery system that can be used in different applications."
What was especially useful about the programme that you use in your everyday work?
"I got to learn a lot about lipid digestion and how to control the digestions speed."
What do you miss most from your time at the programme?
"I miss teamwork a lot, as a PhD student you spend quite some time working alone."
How international was your programme?
"Most of the students from the programme of Food Technology and Nutrition are international."
What was the focus of your degree project?
"I was doing a very interesting project where I tried to identify the nanoparticles in the tap water here in the Chemistry centre in Lund."
Why do you think prospective students should choose the Food Technology and Nutrition programme?
"It covers a broad perspective of food engineering, technology and nutrition. Moreover, some of the advanced courses can be widely used in other disciplines. For example, from a pharmaceutical perspective."
Any comments to prospective students coming to Lund?
"You will have a lot of fun! And the summers here are really the best."
