The annual ranking evaluates over 1 000 institutions out of the approximately 17 000 internationally recognised universities worldwide. This places Lund in the top 0,5% of the world’s universities.
The ranking takes five areas into consideration: teaching, research, citations, international outlook and industry income. A heavily weighted factor is the survey responses from teachers and researchers at other institutions compiled by THE.
Lund’s improvement this year looks to be the result of an improvement within citations as well as a higher percentage of external research funding.
This is how Lund University has ranked in the past five years:
2011: 80
2012: 82
2013: 123
2014: 119
2015: 90
