Information for current study support mentors and note-takers

Have you received an assignment as a study support mentor or note-taker? You can find more information both for those who are about to start their assignment and for those who already have an ongoing assignment below.

Information for you with a mentorship assignment

All mentorship assignments are handled by Disability Support Services. A mentorship usually takes around two hours per week and is agreed on a semester-by-semester basis. If you have any questions about the assignment, please feel free to contact the mentor coordinator, liselott [dot] eriksson [at] stu [dot] lu [dot] se.

You can find more information about the assignment agreement and the confirmations you need to complete below. We have also gathered detailed information about payment of fees and the fee levels.

Assignment agreement

For study support mentors or assistants be registered to receive fees, an agreement must be completed by the time the semester’s assignment begins. The agreement is sent via email, in conjunction with the start-up meeting. It is very important that the agreement is submitted by the time you start the assignment, since it provides the start date of the assignment period.

Confirmation of ongoing mentorship assignment four times per semester

During the semester, you will receive an email requiring you to confirm that the mentorship/assistant assignment is ongoing, in accordance with the earlier agreement. The emails are sent out four times per semester and must be responded to within five working days.

These confirmations make up the basis for the fee payment and will be used for accounting purposes. It is very important that the confirmations are submitted to ensure that fees are paid out.

Payment of fees

The payment of fees occurs after the semester is complete, given that the agreement and the confirmations have been submitted. Together, these also form the basis for deciding the size of the fee.

Both study support mentors and students are obliged to inform Disability Support Services if you do not have regular meetings, if the student fails to attend meetings or if the assignment ends for any other reason.

In order for the fee to be paid directly into your bank account, you need to register your account with Swedbank.

Register your bank account at Swedbank's webpage (in Swedish)

Fee level

The fee for the semester is SEK 4,800 before tax in those cases where the mentoring assignment has continued throughout the semester. In other cases, the fee is calculated according to the percentage of the semester the assignment has covered. The scope is divided into 25%, 50%, 75% or 100% of the semester, see below.

Fees before tax for assistants and study support mentors at Lund University, per semester:

  • 100% of 20 weeks: SEK 4,800
  • 75% of 20 weeks: SEK 3,600
  • 50% of 20 weeks: SEK 2,400
  • 25% of 20 weeks: SEK 1,200

The fee levels above are approved and will be applied from 10 August 2022.

There is one mentors’ meeting offered each semester, in which we discuss questions related to the mentorship assignment. The mentors’ meeting for the autumn semester is offered on:

  • 6 December at 16:15

The invitation to the meeting will be sent out by e-mail about 1-2 weeks in advance.

You are also always welcome to contact the mentor coordinator if you have questions about the assignment.

Information for you with a note-taking assignment

You can find more information about registration as a note-taker and the confirmation of completed note-taking assignment that you need to complete below. We have also gathered detailed information about payment of fees and the fee levels.

Registration

You register as a note-taker via one of the web forms available on the website below, either before or in conjunction with the start of your assignment. It is not possible to register retrospectively.

Become a study support mentor or note-taker

Confirmation of completed note-taking assignment

At the end of each completed semester, you will be required to confirm that you have carried out your assignment. This means completing a confirmation that is sent out via email by the administrator for note-taking support.

Payment of fees

After the end of the semester, payment will be made within three months, provided that the form for registration for the assignment as a note-taker as well as a confirmation that the assignment was completed have both been submitted in time.

For the fee to be paid directly into your bank account, you need to register your account with Swedbank.

Register your bank account at Swedbank's webpage (in Swedish)

Fee level

The fees are calculated according to the number of credits the assignment covers.

Fees before tax:

  • 30 credits: SEK 3 200
  • 15 credits: SEK 1 600
  • 7.5 credits: SEK 800

Have you not yet received payment of your fee?

The payment is probably in the pipeline. It can take up to three months after the end of the semester before the money reaches your account. Remember that you must have confirmed your assignment in order for the fee to be paid. The confirmation form is sent out at the end of the semester during which you have had an assignment.

Have you connected your account to Swedbank’s account register?

In order for the fee to be paid to your account, you need to connect your account to Swedbank. If you have not done that, you will receive a payment notice, which will be sent to the registered address you had when you signed up for the assignment.

Do you also want to be a note-taker for the next semester?

In that case, you must register again next semester for continued assignments as a note-taker. The assignment you have had for the current semester thus applies only for that semester.

Are you planning to also be a note-taker during the summer?

In that case, you need to have registered via our online form and received an assignment. Disability Support Services will send out an email that confirms your involvement. At the end of the summer semester, you will receive a further email in which you are to confirm your completed assignment. Remember to connect your bank account to Swedbank.
