Många tycks hävda att Twilight-böckerna av Stephenie Meyer sänder ut en mer stereotyp och normerande genusbild än J.K. Rowlings Harry Potter-böcker. I denna uppsats analyseras och jämförs karaktärerna Bella och Edward i Om jag kunde drömma (2005, Twilight) med Hermione och Ron i Harry Potter och Halvblodsprinsen (2005, Harry Potter and the Half-bloodprince)utifrån vilka traditionellt manliga respektive kvinnliga egenskaper de kan sägas inneha. Resultaten bekräftar att Bella och Edward är mer könsstereotypa än Hermione och Ron.
