En främling i det svenska landskapet - Om en Agave americana i Uppland på stormaktstiden

Author

Summary, in English

In September, 1708, for the first time ever in Sweden, an Agave americana (Aloe americana) was in bloom in Sweden. That event attracted much attention: four poets (Magnus Rönnow, Sophia Elisabet Brenner, Tobias Schubarth and Olof Rudbeck the younger) wrote poems in honour of the plant (and its owner, Count Nils Gyldenstolpe). The article analyses the differences between the poems and tries to explain why the poets wrote as they did.
