Le pluriel en français L2 écrit : Étude comparative des apprenants libanais et suédois de français L2

Author

  • Marlene Friberg

Summary, in English

This study of plural suffixes in written plural contexts used by lebanese learners of second language French is based on previous works by Schlyter & Bartning (2004), Granfeldt et al. (2005) and Ågren (2008). The learning process of an L2 learner passes through stages that are clearly determined and systematic. In this study twenty lebanese learners of L2 French were asked to write a text based on a series of images. These texts were analyzed on the one hand, by the software Direkt Profil and on the other hand, manually counting the plural markings and the lack thereof in all plural contexts. We found that that the lebanese learners do pass through the same stages of learning as Swedish learners of L2 French. We also saw evidence that there is a possible transfer from the L1 to the L2 of certain characteristics. In this study the use of articles where affected.
