Summary, in English

For developing countries like Pakistan, in the absence and scarcity of trust-worthy solar radiation data, the need for an empirical model to predict global solar radiation seems inevitable. Various climatological parameters can be used to develop such models. In this study, linear regression models are developed to estimate the monthly average daily global radiation using cloudiness data for Karachi, Pakistan for the period of 20 years (1987-2007). The results showed that the models could estimate global radiation within acceptable error.
