The reception on Arrival Day will take place between 09:00 and 19:00. The students will be greeted by their international mentors at Copenhagen airport Kastrup and at the train station in Lund, after which they will be accompanied to the Ingvar Kamprad Design Centre (IKDC) where they will be ‘checked in’, given keys to their accommodation, and have the opportunity to purchase tickets for welcome activities. The mentors will then take the international students to their student housing where they can make themselves at home. Throughout the day, some 70 mentors will volunteer to assist the new students. At IKDC some 20 employees from Lund University will be present as well.
On Arrival Day, students from some 50 different countries are expected to arrive in Lund. The largest groups of students will arrive from Canada, China, USA, Australia, Germany and Singapore.
In December LU Accommodation allocated accommodation for 500 international students. Any vacancies that remain once all arrived international students have been offered a place to stay will be published on the Bopoolen website at www.bopoolen.nu and be available to both international and national students at Lund University.
