What students say about the Master's in Energy-Efficient & Environmental Building Design
Alejandro Pacheco Diéguez from Spain
Before attending the Master in Energy-Efficient and Environmental Building Design at Lund University I did a five-year architecture degree at Universidad de Sevilla.
My experience of the Master’s programme is strongly positive, both personally and professionally. It is the first of its kind in Scandinavia, and one of the pioneers in Europe in the field of energy effciency in buildings. Among its teachers are experienced professionals who are also in close contact with the industry and its needs. The academic level was demanding but not overwhelming and provided me with the tools and knowledge to be off to a good professional start.
I presently work as environmental specialist and architect at BAU Arkitekter in Stockholm. My work here is very interesting and challenging. It includes: Creating and implementing a procedure to consider daylight, energy use and thermal comfort from the first stages of building design using Grasshopper with DIVA and Ladybug/Honeybee; Being part of design teams in competitions with environmental requirements, which is becoming increasingly common; Assisting with BREEAM and Miljöbyggnad environmental certifications.
