What Salar says about the Master's in Water Resources Engineering
"I studied the civil engineering programme at Iran University of Science & Technology, Tehran, which touched slightly on water-based issues. The focus was mainly on the design and construction of structures, roads, bridges, etc. Wanting to develop my knowledge in the field of water resources, I chose Lund University as my first option to pursue my studies further. Throughout the wonderful journey of studying at a high-quality university, with the inspiring academic staff of the Water Resources Engineering programme, I found the water and environmental engineering discipline an interesting topic to explore.
During my studies at Lund University, I focused on taking courses related to water and wastewater engineering. I did my degree project on management of sulfide formation in anaerobic digestion of sulfate-rich substrates (marine macro-algae), which won the Ramböll’s prize for the best Master's thesis in the field of environmental sciences in Sweden in 2012.
After graduation, I was employed as research engineer at Water and Environmental Engineering at the Department of Chemical Engineering, Lund University, carrying out some research projects in collaboration with a broad range of companies and water-services, under the supervision of the outstanding scholars at the University.
Since June 2014, I am enrolled as PhD student at Water and Environmental Engineering at the Department of Chemical Engineering, Lund University. My research field concerns quantitative and qualitative management of urban storm-water runoff."
