About the programme and the teaching style
How did you find out about this programme and why did you choose it?
"I found Lund University on my own, since I wanted to study abroad and did extensive research on the available options. What attracted me the most to studying the International Business programme at Lund University was the opportunity to achieve excellence in doing business in an international environment at one of the best schools in Europe. I believe that living and studying in another country and being surrounded by a multinational crowd of future entrepreneurs, while also gaining practical experience, will raise me to a new level of understanding of global business."
What do you think about your programme so far?
"After finishing the first semester, I must say I am very positively surprised about both the study programme and the university. I think it is a perfect fit for people with analytical thinking, who are interested in foreign cultures and with international career ambitions. Combining theory with real-life cases provides me with a strong educational background which will undoubtedly prove useful in the future.Seeing how many opportunities the university has to offer, I believe it is a great chance to improve my professional skills."
What is the best thing about your programme?
"Being very interested in the business world, it is the content of the programme that I find the best aspect. The International Business Bachelor’s programme offers a wide range of corporate-related courses, which are always in an international context, including micro- and macroeconomics, management, statistics, law, and business ethics."
What do you think of the teaching style at Lund?
"The teaching style at Lund focuses both on individual assignments and teamwork, emphasising the value of problem-solving skills and critical thinking. As for me, it is quite different to what I have been used to, I feel continuously challenged to grow both individually and professionally."
Why should prospective students choose this programme?
"The programme has a broad focus. Therefore, you can deepen your knowledge in many business-related fields, which can be helpful while making future career decisions. Moreover, it prepares you for your professional life in the best way possible while making international friends and having fun!"
Have you been able to gain any practical experience during your studies so far?
"Not yet, as I am only a second-semester student. However, I am aware of the opportunities ahead of me such as internships or an exchange semester, which I am very much looking forward to!"
How international is your programme?
"The class is evenly split between Swedes and students from around the world, allowing us to create a worldwide network and engage regularly with people from various origins and cultures."
Thoughts on being an international student at Lund and tips for prospective students
What it is like to be an international student at Lund University?
"My experience is simply amazing. Not only have I made international friendships, but I also have gained study and life experience incomparable to staying in my home country. Despite the various difficulties I encountered as an ex-pat (such as not knowing the language), I will never regret the decision to move to Sweden. It helped me become the person I am today – more open-minded and with greater cultural awareness."
Are you involved in any extracurricular activities?
"Yes! I am an active member of the School of Economics and Management’s student union LundaEkonomerna (more information below). I hold a coordinator position in one of the career leg committees and attend various social, career-oriented and educational events to make the most of my time in Lund!"

What surprised you the most about Sweden?
"As far as I am concerned, it was the student’s relationship with the lecturers. In Sweden, it is more informal and personal, and the courses include both individual and group work. That is completely different to my home country, where individual work is emphasised and the lecturers are treated in a very formal way."
Do you have any advice for other students that are considering coming to Lund?
"Work hard to achieve your goals, and don’t hesitate to go for the things you want to try as the opportunities are endless!"
