What Tanya says about the Bachelor's in International Business
Introducing Tanya
Hi! My name is Tanya, and I'm the student ambassador for the Bachelor's programme in International Business. I am happy to answer any questions you might have about the programme, courses, student life, and life in Lund and Sweden via the Unibuddy Platform, where you can chat with me (see below). Please note that I cannot answer questions about the application process, scholarships, or residence permits.
About the programme
Why did you choose this programme? Why in Lund, Sweden?
"I found the International Business programme on the Lund University website and found it interesting. I also liked that Lund was a smaller city and since it was very international, learning Swedish was never necessary, which made it more attractive."
Does the programme live up to your expectations?
"Yes, it does live up to my expectations. I liked how there are surveys available to rate our professors or just the class in general."
What is the best thing about your programme?
"The best thing about my programme is that it gives you many possibilities for a Master’s degree."
Why should prospective students choose this programme?
"If one knows that they want to follow a business degree, but aren’t sure which degree specifically (such as finance, accounting etc.) then choosing this programme is great since we do a little of everything!"
What is your favourite course and why?
"My favourite course was Microeconomics because it was very interesting learning about the market and knowing explanations for why, for instance, certain prices for items increase or decrease."
To what extent does your programme prepare you for a career in your field?
"It prepares you well, as it gives you different perspectives on the subjects of business. Many professors have also had personal experiences, which can give you a lot of insight as a student."
How international is your programme?
"Very international! Half of the class is Swedish, but the other half is very international."
Thoughts on being an international student at Lund, spare time and tips for prospective students
What it is to be an international student at Lund University?
"Being an international student allows you to learn more about yourself and grow. There are lots of opportunities to meet other people from other countries and it's fascinating when realising that people from all over the world are in Lund."
What do you do in your spare time?
"In my spare time, I usually study and take notes while going through previous lectures. In my free time, I like to hang out with my friends and grab lunch or dinner."
Do you have any advice for other students who are considering coming to Lund?
"My advice is to put yourself out there! Don’t be afraid to try new things that might be out of your comfort zone."
